While function is the primary element of any design project, its conceptual and aesthetic aspects demand equal attention. In 1998, Martin Kastner established Crucial Detail in order to blur the boundary between design and art.

This presenter is designed and hand-made by Crucial Detail in Chicago.  Constructed of composite veneer and bocote wood, it was designed exclusively for Alinea:Oenophilia to display the wine tasting notes and recipe pairing cards you will receive with each quarterly wine subscription shipment.

Handcrafted in stainless steel and bocote wood, this cork presenter dramatically offers a cork to guests for inspection. It was designed by Martin Kastner of Crucial Detail, the creative engine behind Alinea’s unique and award-winning serviceware.
